Vitalik Buterin Sold Over $2 Million in Meme Coins
On October 13, Buterin sold several meme coins from his portfolio, collecting 651.67 ETH, or $1.61 million. Earlier in the day, he had sold coins worth around $636,000, bringing his total to 908.77 ETH, or $2.24 million.
The sales included 10 billion Moodeng tokens, which brought in 395.96 ETH ($976,000), and 200,000 MSTR2100 tokens, which netted him 93.23 ETH ($231,000). Other transactions included: 500 million E-Bull tokens for 73.79 ETH, 15 million Popcat tokens for 27.11 ETH, and 20 billion Milo tokens for 20.75 ETH ($51,000).
Blockchain analytics platform SpotOnchain confirmed the transactions. In the last nine days, Buterin has collected 1,101 ETH, worth $2.78 million. He donated 360.16 ETH, or $884,000, to charity so far.
Buterin has also repeatedly urged meme coin projects to donate to charity or build decentralized organizations. The fact that Buterin dedicated himself to philanthropy through meme coins underlines his commitment to positive impact through cryptocurrency.
